wow...im home....I FEEL LIKE IM IN A DREAM. like i keep looking at things, and just staring at them...cause im in winnipeg, not australia :S this is such a farmtown! it even smells lke hay! no joke...stepped out the airport and...smelt hay O_o haha and it took like 30 mins to drive from one side of the city to the other...in sydney a 30 min drive is like to the mall or somewhere considered really close...haha. insanity.

winding down

went to see jane goodall talk last night at town hall. She is such a cute little lady. so inspiriing...like she went into the jungle by herself when she was in her early twenties...and that was back when africa was still wild and not influenced by tourism or anything of the sort. and she worked with david leeky! i didnt know that...dude he was like the guy who excavated the oldest human body ever found and has done tons of research and stuff on human evolution. crazy stuff.

anyways ya that was just a casual monday...no biggie.. :P and this weekend im going for my advanced divers license, so that means im doing a night dive (int the pitch black...kinda worried :P) and deep dive a navigation dive and a boat dive. wish me luck...im a little nervous

next week is my last week of school lfhlkdshlsgdjahl and marty comes!!! and my last day of school is CANADA DAY! LOL so me and my other canadian friend are gunna go crazy at school :P

the outback

sorry this happened a while ago, i just cant be stuffed to blog haha. sorry i love you guys and i know some of you actually check my blog so i'll try to update it for you select few :P

so i went to the out back with my mum. was epic. reached temperatures of like 30 during the day then went to below zero at night. crazy stuff right there. so i saw uluru, and climbed it....man if i ever felt connected with nature it was up there....that was sureal. its so massive and poeple relied on it as shelter and a source of water since ancient times. we had a Mala person tell us some of their stories and lores. it was...mystical... haha sorry lame word, but it was.

we chased kangaroos and wild camles (ya they have camles here :s) for like a whole day, and saw fresh dingo tracks....dingo ate my baby! :P haha apperantly this guy was going for a jog in the morning and a dingo was trailing him..... O_O run man run!

we also went to a cattle ranch, it was legitimately and old school cttle ranch. We had some amazing beef for dinner :) yummy

i took a peice of uluru...shhh dont tell anyone!

100th post

here is my turtle!!! took 30 mins and cost $120. i didnt cry or say ow! legit i didnt complain or anything :P im a toughy...but it did hurt like a biotch...felt like cats digging their anils into my back and srcatching me for 30 mins straight lol. but i loooove it sooo much!! im going back to get it retouched in three weeks, just to fix up the middle abit, add some more dots and colouring in the middle shell part. But other than that its perfect!! :D

northern composure finals: parapluie!

awe struck

this is what people live for. right here, under the water. suit on tank on mask on, 10m jump and bam! you're in the reef. as you sink all is chaos, waves, bubbles and people surrounding you for the first 5m then 2m lower and coral starts to come in focus. Bright greens, pink, and spongey browns. little fishes surround you, each one you see different, like a snow flake none the same. there is so much to look at you dont know where to turn. so you float and just watch. The water is green and vibrant and the thrashing waves sway you side to side, but they aren't threatening down here. then all of a sudden someone, cant tell who, is waving and pointing at something, can't tell wat, and are signaling for me to swim forward. so i start swimming wondering wat it could be. as i get closer i realize its not just a fish but a big green sea turtle! with wide eyes looking right at me. there it is, just hanging out, munching on some seaweed. people start going insane, taking pictures, petting it, swimming with it. i gotta say that turtle was my favorite thing that day. the dive goes on, so many fish too many different colors to count. some small, smaller than my pinky, and some huge! half my size. I spotted a shark and showed everyone, it was a white tipped reef shark. just cruizin along minding his own business. today was amazing. got a bit sea sick on the way there, but also saw some dolphins swimming along side the boat, so that was a nice distraction from me wanting to vomit. pictures will be up soon. hopefully the underwater camera worked. :} i shall report back tomorrow... going on a rainforest tour :) and im going to hold/cuddle a koala!!!

so beautiful and tropical here. we are going out on a boat tomorrow so we can go out on the reef. me and dad are going on three dives :) we just rented the underwater camera! hope this works. then the day after that we are going on a rainforest tour, gunna be epic! and to this butterfly place where they are massive and come and sit on you.....lol emma this would be your worst nightmare

went boating all day today. it was so beautiful sailed by the open ocean :) and i even got to drive the boat for a while!

fun night last night :) finally hung out with my friends as a group. all my...gals lol dont worry guys i havent replaced you, but its nice having a group of friends here!

so we went to this deliciously awesome vegetarian restaraunt called emelia's its like...indie hipster to the max haha. and the played lots of jack johnson music :} and ya there were seven of us and i had a nacho roll thing and HONEY COMB CHOCOLATE CHEESE FRICKEN CAKE FOR DESSERT AAAAAAAAAHLFHDLS. it was...wow....wooooooooow i want more. lol infact i had like all of mine then a quarter of mac's...cause im a fatty like that :P
so ya after we were done eating we kinda...wandered around in the dark...and went to the beach...lol it was kinda sketchy, but cool. but then we saw this guy get injured on the beach so we ran over and asked if they needed help but they already had an ambulance on the way...it was intense.
anyways after that comotion was over we went to the beach pool and kinda just stood in it, cause we were all wearing purty dresses so we hiked them up and stood in the water. it was nice

oooohh sooo tired! had two feild trip days in a row. blaarg

on wednesday instead of going to tafe my marine class went to long reef rock platform and wandered around the r0ock pools and rock formations and several beaches for four hours. then i had to walk all the way home, which was nice, made me feel like i lived there...which i do. i felt cool walking home. ooo and emma there are some neat rock formations we can take pictures by if you wanna, its basically huge reddy brown boulders with holes and indents in them...like a bunch of boulders. its kinda cool...i guess

on thursday...which was today for me...tomorrow for you O_o haha my ancient history class went down the cicular quay and the rocks and went to some cool dig sites and susanne museam which is basically just really old houses and ya at lunch we were aloud to wander around the rocks alone it was fun times :P i feel so australian. cause like....i know where im going and ya XD its a nice feeling

man the ferry was reaaally rocky on the way home. made me kinda sea sick

i looooooveee ancient history! its so cool! and my teacher is like a legit archaeologist. she's been to egypt soo mnay times and the other day she brought in some artefacts and we got to analyze them! there was like anciet pits of pottery and MUMMY WRAPPINGS! ya...legit mummy wrappings and like old ceramic type plate shards and aaaaaah so cool! but if elt kinda bad cause it was last periiod of the day and we have a rowdy class and the mitchell came and joined our class so we were all just kinda going insane :{ and no one was really paying attention...but i was! cause im a keener and ya...lol :P

ugh this weekend is gunna suck. i have so much homeowrk in bio and two english essays to write....and my teacher thinks im uber smart so i have to make it really good or she'll be like...hmmm not wat i expected from you elena. so sunday night me and mum went down town cause i was inveited to go to this music gathering thing by my scuba buddy at the art gallery(museum of contemperary art) and mum was invited out for drinks. so we arrive at the art gallery and she has to go meet her friends so im all alone downtown sydney. no worries though it wasnt scary it was totes safe and kinda fun to watch all the weird people walk by. But ya so im waiting for the thing to start and all these teens start showing up wearing the most rediculous things...think british vogue magazine splattered with neon paints and knee socks. it was so weird! but i loved it! i wish i could dress like that everyday it was so awesome and different. and all the guys were like indie rocker with leather jackets that have duck tape on them and skinny jeans and big sun glasses and cool hats. man it was cool, but i felt so loner ish cause i was there alone and everyone was in big groups of friends. I was kind of thinking that the night was gunna suck cause i was alone, but once it started i found my scuba bud and we chatted but he had to go cause he was performing and had to go set up (he's a dj type person) lol. so ya i was alone drinking my mocktail, looking like a noob and these two girls come up to me and were all like "omg i love you bag(it was my tie bag, funny how many people ive met because of this bag THANKS GRANNY!) so ya then we became like really good friends within that night it was so cool. And we got to wander aroung the art gallery and see ANNIE LEIBOVITZ's photos! it was so different and cool. she is an amazing photographer, you guys should check her out if you dont already know who she is which you probs do. so ya and i met a guy but just like a breif meeting, he was friends with those two girls i made friends with. man my tie bag is just doing all the socializing for me :P that also how my friends at cromer picked me up, they said they spotted my tie bag and decided to come pick me up haha. awesomeness. anyways after the ngiht was done me and mom took the ferry back to town at night, it was gorgeous and there were these crazy birds that kept flying right beside the boat it was awesome, and i got some gilato mmmmmm.

okay sarah i am sorry that my life is so boring i'll go on a long pointless rant for you if thats what you would like.
okay here we go:
sooooo today....wednesday. its the day that i have my tafe course ( marine studies). and its of course at a different campus. its actually at a community college...kinda like red river? ya you can do like mechanics or like beaty :S and a bunch of cool stuff. so ya i of course being the noob that i am have no ide how to get there via bus and i cant ask mom to drive an hour all the way from work to my school to drive me to tafe...even though she was about to do that cause i was so hopeless, but anyways ya my bud mitchell was all "hey i'll take you" even though he wasnt really going to tafe but australias are just insanely nice like that...its weird. like if someone was like hey i need to go like half way across town will you take me even thoguh you arent going there? i would say hell naw. but ya australians are awesomeee! XD so i gave him my grapes as a thank you....cause i dont really like grapes anyways. so i have one guy friend....woooo accomplishment lol jokes. OH WAIT no i have two guy friends, the other is my scuba buddy. oh and this weekend im going to some music festival thing...kinda like coffee house i think...that he invited me to XD cause he does like dj stuff or something :S i dont really know, but it shall be interesting. Its on sunday so quite a ways away. and on saturday me and mum are going to glebe market. lol thats where all the hippies chill and im expecting it to be awesome fun times.

anywho back to tafe we are pretty much just learning about oceanography but my teacher(he is cool stuff) went on this rant about this guy that got ship wrecked off the coast of brazil or something and was on a life raft for like two weeks and then he started seeing some land but then some current whisped him away. its the current that goes from south america up to england, but ya anywas he was caught on that current and it was like 100 days before he was rescued and he survived, and wrote a book about his epic adventures. here check it out

went to some national park today to see aboriginal art.... which is like carvings in rocks and hand prints. it was kinda interesting but its so damn hot and sticky out, and i walked into three spider webs :{ it was no fun. and i tried to get my mom to walk infront of me to sheild me from the webs but she was too short and kept missing them all so i kept walking right into them.
oh ya then mom started driving on the wrong side of the road and almost got us killed....thanks mom. best part is while i was freaking out....she was laughing. jeeeeez mom!

and now i have to write some more for homework UGH. but then i get to go watch black swan with my friends! XD hurrah

chyeah thats right i am now a certified scuba diver!!!!!! hell ya.
zomg i saw a shark. it was just one of those little reef ones that are the same colour as the sand. but it was sooooo cool. and sting rays!! lol its fun to chase them around. i also swam between two huge groupers. lol they kinda just hovered and gave me weird looks.

so ya anyways daddy is coming down here in april!!!! so we're booking a two day live-a-board for when we go to the great barrier reef. its where you go with a group out on a big boat and dive like three times one day and then sail out far to cool sites and stay over night then dive a couple more times the next day. and then after that we're going on some rainforest tour. sounds like a fun time. then when i get back emma will be coming!!!!!!! hopefully. aaaah so pumped. and then my sistas are coming sometime in may i think? then i gotta wait like a month and a bit until marty the party and a half comes. XD

so last boxing class was just like "hey you're new to boxing im gunna show you some cool basic punches and kicks wooooooooo!" this class its like "OKAY PUNCH PUNCH GO GO GO AND RUN UP THE HILL AND 50 CRUNCHES OKAY PLANK FOR 2 MINUTES AND GET UP AND 20 KICKS AND FREE STYLE FOR TWO ROUNDS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHLKSAJKLSAFJLKS!" for an hour and twenty mins straight. lol dont get me wrong i love it, but for not having exercised very hard for the past two years this was kind of crazy, crazy enough that i felt like i was gunna vomit afterwards and by the time i got back to our unit my hands and cramped up into crab claw formation. no joke i couldn't move my hands they were stuck "the crawwww!" "the craw?" "noo! the CRAW!" haha the old get smart. i sure hope you get that reference. or you're not cool. but ya anyways. my arms and legs fell asleep and my hands were stuck in some spastic seizure claw formation and i had to lie on the couch and get my mom to massage them until they un-clawed themselves lmfao. and the whole time i was nearly out of my mind. felt drunk or something. haha jesus the things too much work can do to ya :P....i dont even

days and days and sharks and days

so tuesday night i had boxing. it was really fun, and i bought some gloves. i feel so legit. i like being told to put all my power into a punch. it feels good. try it....obvi not on a person. but go punch a pillow with all of your strength. makes you feel strong. especially when the person holding the padding staggers back when you punch it :P

wednesday i had my first marine studies class. its four hours long once a week....arg. and its also off campus so i got driven by a teacher with this other boy who is in the class. only me and him are taking it from our school :S and im one of five girls in a class of about fifteen. lol lots of boys. loud boys that need to shhhhh.
but ya anyways the teacher is awesome stuff, i had a good chat with him about diving and he gave me some cool spots to dive that i will definatly check out. like caves and stuff withs lots of sharks and BULL SHARKS! there are apperantly from 1500-2000 bull sharks in the sydney harbour. those are scary big ass sharks!....i'll find a picture.

and this weekend i have my last open water dive test thing so wish me luck! XD

man that was insanely fun. my first time diving in the ocean! im in such a good mood right now haha. so ya my dive partner was this guy adden who invited me to some music festival that he is playing in....lol man i keep meeting all the right people. i must have good karma or something :) but ya so the ocean... we went like 9 meters deep which is like....36 feet? iunno but its deep. and i saw lots os fishes and jellies! big jellies haha and this fish that was like the size of maybe half of me. he was a big boy alright. and he had bright stripes. ooo and there was a school of angel fish, they were pretty big too. these fish arent scared of people llike you can legit swim right through a school of fish and they are like...oh hey. and dont move. its awesome. um and i saw some sea slug like things. they were interesting and they swam funny...but ya this time next week i will be a fully certified scuba diver! WOOOOOO.

kinda broke down today....kept crying at school and stuff. had to go to the freakin counselor and all these different teachers. it was embarrasing. atleast none of my friends saw that. :( sorry if ive been....flipping out on you guys lately. i'll stop being so demanding and expecting you to be online and able to talk.

no worries mate

first day of actual classes...dear jesus its 42 degrees and the school has no air conditioning...sweating buckets! haha im so attractive all sweaty and red (y). but ya anyways i had ancient history which seems pretty awesome. we already have a planned feild trip to go to an archealogical dig and some like old site and stuff. im excited :) then after that i had english and its basically a course of write down your feelings and opinions and bs like that lol. so thats dandy and all :p and ya after that i had maths and ive already learnt all the criteria.....like legit. we were given an outline and ive done it all...they are just learning wat absolute values are...wtf! oh and get this my maths teacher is like the duplicate of miss marquez....kjafhjksnfjksdjk. its crazy! after that was lunch and i stuck around a bit but i had no classes after lunch so me and this girl bussed it home cause she lives right up my street. man its crazy how all this is working out for me. :P thank you australia! so ya after that me and this girl went to the beach cause it was fricken hot out and we were dying. it was the first time i actually went deep in the ocean! aaaah scary. there was a huuge rip pulling us away and it was scary and stuff. but i did it and i didnt die! woo. ya then we kinda stalked this guy that is really good at surfing...i think im gunna go up to him and be like...hey im canadian teach me how to surf!...although i may completely creep him out haha. BUT I WANNA LEARN HOW TO SURF! aaaaaaaaahldsjaklsjsl.

first day bringing back memories of being in grade seven...

so first day of school...where to start?
ummm so i got there not knowing wat to do just kind of wandering around people giving me weird looks is always a great way to start out at a new place. good thing i wore my normal shoes cause pretty much no one was wearing those hideous ones haha. so ya then this assembly starts and i go up to this girl and ask where year elevens are supposed to go and she shows me so i wa like hey maybe i should stick by this girl so im not such a loner so i ask if i could sit with her and then this huge ass group of girls come up and sit down and she was like.....i guess. so ya that wasnt so great so i kinda just left that alone haha...ugh my head hurts so much right now......okay then after the assembly its like recess ro something iunno they have recess its weird. and im all alone and sad and stuff but then these people come up to me and tell me to come sit with them which was awesome and turns out that girl was also from canada! ahah she moved like two years ago and also weirdly enough lives right on my street....but ya pretty much everything was good after that. i ddint have classes today it was just orientation or seomthing. oh and get this water fountains are called bubblers and juice boxes are called poppers and math is called maths. jeez im so canadian. :p

ugh but ya so overwhelmed by all of this new stuff. i dont like drastic change like this! :{

went out to chinatown with some friends we made :D lol chyeah we made friends. we're cool. haha anyways ya we went for dim summ which is called yum cha here for some reason :s. after that we went off to patti's market which is awesome its like this huge indoor market of like secondhand shops and awesomeness like that. then after that we went to the aquarium!!!!!! aaah it was soo goood!!! im gunna take you to the market and the aquarium marty. it shall be fun times!! so ya my friend's name is sigrid :p first aussie friend...

going to watch some boats in the harbour or something. they dont have firworks like us apperantly :{ not that i could even stay up for that. im so tired! i cant sleep its so hot and sticky and gross and no air conditioning and im all sad and tired and lazy and lakjflaskjflakjfalk. i need some sleep. man im gunna miss canada day :{ haha i'll find some flags and go crazy here and people will judge. it'll be great fun.

kinda depressed. i miss winnipeg. and its coldness. and dressin up to go out side. and toboganing with you guys. and hot chocolate...no milk :p and cozy fires. and hugs. and skatin haha especially with mart cause she freaks out. and sleep overs with no sleep and my allergies workin up cause pretty much all of you have pets! and im allergic to like everything haha. and seeing everyone in the lockers. and getting hot chocolate at the cafe, and everyone taking sips from the communal straw :p. and our spares in the locker room!!! best times ever. and watching pointless movies from netflix. haha and how i met your mother :p got me addicted i must say. ugh i miss crazy jasmin freak out moments where you flail your arms around and scream at poeple and no one takes you serious cause its just so funny. and i miss when me and jessica break out into musical numbers during class and no one notices or really cares. i miss lunch time! haha and marty freaking out about boys and kyra giving her judgeing looks that are really funny.

went to the zoo. im hot and tired and cranky. so stop being annoying sarah. anyways I GOT MY PICTURE TAKEN WITH A KOALA. twas fun. i also saw tapirs, platypus, elephants and penguins...like all my fav animals. and we went to se a sea lion show. that was cool and cute. omg leopard seals are freaky and big and could eat me whole. klahfkldsjgkj. my god kay i got a spider bite on my hand and its uber itchy haha...hope it wasnt poisonous :p

soo today was tuns of fun. in he morning we took a bus down to the manly ferries and took a ferry downtown. got close to the opera house and the sydney harbour bridge. Got some nice pictures :0 and met some australian ladies. man my mom keeps making friends :s people are weirdly friendly here. so ya we got off the ferry and went to the Rock market. its pretty much like our Forks. it was seet. i bought a nice opal koala necklace, and head scarf and some nice sandals cause my other ones broke :{. after that i got some corn on the cob, cause they have cool random things like that there... haha then we went down to the harbour and got some pictures, then went back up the market and found a cute little Irish tea place. lol made me think of matt mckay. so i took some pictures in there. it was so cute and quite. and it said help wanted! ugh i wish i lived closer to the market, i so would have applied for that job. mmmm i got creme brule tea. it was very om nomy. after tea went went around the market some more and found a DIDGERIDOO STALL! the man who onwed it look kinda like john butler and he taught me how to play the didgeridoo. its kinda like beat boxing haha. amn i loved that guy. he was awesome...i think i have a picture of him. i'll post it. but ya so we were hanging out there and my mom is all "hey we should get one cause you like weird instruments" of course i thgouth she was joking BUT NOPE IM SO GETTING A DOIDGERIDOO GUYS!!!! AAAAH IM SO EXCITED KSVKJDHCBXJKBFDBJDK. i dont even.

soo umm driving on the left hand of the street is definately as hard and scary as it sounds. i think i feared for my life way too much out there. i had to tell my mom how to drive practiacally haha. okay so we hit a couple curbs qent in the wrong lane a couple times got honked at. and oh ya we got stuck on a curb and couldnt get out so i had to get out of the car and push but i couldnt get it off so this old man comes up to us and asks us if we need help so i was like haha ya...and he was like, so how'd ya manage to do that? and im like...we're canadian, and he laughed. so ya he tried to push it, but couldnt. so he stops this fairly good looking boy riding his bike and asks if he could help us so this young man was like okay mate and like practically lifts the car up and pushes it back. haha ya he was pretty awesome. except he was like smoking right in my face.

kay we finally get to the mall and we go to go get cell phones and this awesome guy named mitch is helpin us out right, and everyone there thinks its pretty cool that we come from canada, and he asks wat school im going to, and turns out he went to the exact same one. (y) (thats a thumbs up) so ya.....good day...kinda

man that was amazing...there were poeple surfing. im going to leanr how to surf some day. ive always wanted to. can't wait to be a beach bum. i hope once school starts i'll feel like i live here instead of just visiting. I want that feeling of when you walk around your neighbourhood you know where everything is and how to get places and all the good coffee shops and places to eat. I wanna see familiar faces. i know this is my first day haha but i hope that feeling comes soon.

jet laaaaaaaggggg. im at the state where you sometimes are standing up but your brain feels like its alseep then you get vertigo and are like whoooooooooa there body dont fall over. and im so damn hungry cause i refused to eat the disgusting plane lasagna. im so hungry that i think if someone gave me food i wouldnt be able to eat it cause my stomach is all AAAAAAAAH. and my mom syas i cant go to bed until seven so i dont get even more jet lagged. soo...ya i'll probably post through this. i may die. :p just kidding i wont but i may pass out. kay i need to brush my teeth. they feel funny...maybe im hallucinating...wait no thats when you see things. KAY i ahve this rug in my room and its a total shag rug. bright red. its really funny and its making me dizzy. maybe i should go to the beach...but i think the sun will kill me. i need to crawl into a dark hole filled wiht pillows and pass out for a day or two

Hey team. so i'm not gone yet, but i am leaving for Australia for six months on Tuesday (January 18th) and i decided that im making this blog as a kind of diary of my crazy adventures down under...or my boring adventures.
